A Little About Me

Hello & Welcome

I am Amanda Boucaut, a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) based in Brisbane, Australia. I have over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families across a range of settings including youth mental health services, youth drug and alcohol services, child protection system, school setting and private practice. This has involved working with young people, parents and families with a range of presenting concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, adjustment to major life changes or events, social and relationship issues, schooling issues, anger and aggression, sleeping and eating difficulties, grief and loss, neurodivergent, and sexuality and gender diversity, infertility, pregnancy complications and perinatal anxiety and depression.

I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach based on a range of theoretical frameworks including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Schema Therapy. Additionally, I am a certified Circle of Security Parenting program facilitator. I also provide support and supervision to provisional psychologists as a board approved supervisor.

When not at work, you can find me hanging out with my son and pet dog, going on nature walks or soaking up the sun and building sandcastles at the beach.
